Southbank Apartment Fit-out

Our clients purchased an early 2000’s apartment in Southbank and required a new fit out to customize it to suit their requirements. The apartment is a weekender as the family home is in country victoria. The space faces west and due to development around the building most of the direct light is blocked by high rises. The existing kitchen was pokey and dark which was exacerbated by a laminate block between living and kitchen housing a fridge. The concept for the interior was to elongate the kitchen and design a large island bench that would double as the dining table which has helped use the space that was previously essentially an overgrown passage way. The walkin robe in the main bedroom was taken out and instead the space was given over the ensuite making it proportional and luxurious. The bath was removed in the main bathroom and a shower now takes up the width of the room. Mirror was used in various locations to bounce and reflect light from the newly painted white walls and ceiling mirror above a kitchen timber shelf creates a sense of space and light as it does in the kids bedroom cupboards and to the back of the front door. The overall design has resulted in a light and bright bespoke apartment that feels like a luxurious propotioned, quality hotel suite.
